Make a New Year Resolution You Can Commit to

Hey friend, we aren’t doing this again. We aren’t spending another second making new years resolutions that we a) can’t commit to and b) don’t have any relevant impact on the lifestyle we’re chasing.

Lemme tell you something that’s going to feel better than eating a salad in January (jk please eat your vegetables). It’s the feeling of being empowered by your finances.

Picture this: it’s December 2023. You just came off your best year in biz, like, ever. Your revenue is off the charts, your books are poppin’, and you’re staring at a FAT stack of cash in your bank account. Sounds like a dream, right? We’re going to make that dream a reality together, and we’re gonna do that by making New Years resolutions that are smart, achievable, and trackable.

NEW YEAR’S Resolutions:
Small Business Canada Edition

2023 you is organized, committed, and fired up about making money moves. I can feel it! So let’s discuss 3 smart tools you probably already have to help keep your money organized.

Your Smartphone

You’re glued to it anyway so you might as well use it for GOOD! Use your smartphone to take photos of your receipts and upload them to Quickbooks immediately to stay organized. Remember no receipt, no write-off.

Quickbooks

Speaking of Quickbooks… it’s literally your QB (quarterback) when it comes to keeping your finances up to date. If you hate big scary spreadsheets, piles of receipts, and feeling like you’re reading a different language all the time then Quickbooks is for you. Your only regret about purchasing a subscription will be not doing it sooner… for real.

Manage your finances right from your smartphone with their user-friend app that allows you to upload photos of your receipts, send invoices, track time, track expenses, and more! I love love LOVE this tool and think you’ll love it too. Learn more about Quickbooks here.

Your Calendar

Time is your only non-renewable resource and that’s the best reason to use it wisely. Use your calendar to block off weekly CEO time where you’ll dedicate a few hours to reviewing your finances including bank statements, revenue, and expenses and identifying opportunities or threats to your biz. Doing this weekly will help you keep a pulse on the heart of your business.

Listen, it’s so easy to get caught up in being “busy,” but don’t sleep on your CEO time. Around here we call it #MoneyMonday and it’s an integral part of my business.
