How to Make More Money in 2022 | Calgary Bookkeeper

Before we get ahead of ourselves, there is no secret sauce that will magically put more money in your bank account, nor I have figured out how to grow a money tree in the backyard. You’ll still need to work harder, better, faster, stronger.

If one of your goals for this year was to increase your revenue, pull in more profit or save extra pocket change for that (eventual) vacation, I’m here for it! Money goals are my favourite kind of goals. Let me break down some of the ways you can start flowin’ the cash into your pocket this year.

Take a look in the rearview mirror

It helps to know what your past finances looked like. Where did you spend your money, where did your income come from, how consistent was your saving? Taking note of what your books looked like last year is the first step for paving the way to a more profitable year this year.

Where can you create more revenue streams?

All successful businesses should have somewhere between 3 to 7 revenue streams. If we’ve learned anything in the last two years it’s that nothing is predictable and we all need to have a backup plan. Take a deep dive into your current business and revenue streams and brainstorm ways that you can bring in more dollar dollar bills. Maybe that’s an evergreen course, turning one-to-one coaching into one-to-many coaching, maybe you could create an e-book. The possibilities are endless if you sit down and put your thinking cap on.

Up your rates

For the people in the back: Up. Your. Rates. Your time is worth a lot, probably more than you are charging right now. I’ve been there too - you don’t want to say no to a potential client because you need that money or you’re not sure when the next client will come along. Stick to your guns and charge what your time is worth.

Delegate, delegate, delegate

Hiring someone might seem like the opposite of making more money but we all know that money is time baby and you could probably use more time. Review all the tasks you’re responsible for and decide which ones would be better delegated. The ones that slow you down, kill your vibe or just aren’t your thing are the first tasks that need to slide off your plate. Once you have someone in place to help do the tasks that you don’t want to do, you’ll have more time to focus on working on your business, rather than in your business and in the long run, you’ll be able to grow and earn more revenue that way.

Now that you have some ways to make more moola this year, you’ll want to make sure you’re keeping track of it properly and saving for your taxes. Bookkeeping Bootcamp is opening for registration in February 2022. My signature course will help you better understand your finances so you can make informed decisions that are best for you and your biz.
